On July 15, the Human Resources Committee of KAAGNY in conjunction with Legal Advisory Council of Queens County and New York State Police Officers held an information seminar regarding the recruiting requirements and practices for the entrance into the New York State Police Academy.
Held at the Flushing’s Daedong Open Space Gallery, the seminar was well attended and very informative. Information regarding testing procedures, recommendation requirements, and application process were ably presented by New York State Police Recruitment Officers. The average starting salary for the New York State Police Officer is $39,771 ~ $49,777.
For officers serving in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, and Westchester, Duchess, and Orange Counties will receive $3,697 more. The applicant must be a United States citizen, and must be a high school graduate, as well a New York state resident.
