On Oct. 3, New York City will turn as beautiful as the autumn foliage. The colorful Korean traditional dresses, Han Bok, of every color will line the streets of our beloved city. The large avenue of Broadway will be filled with the drum beats of “Nong Ak” as over 200 associations participate in our annual Korean Day Parade. In conjunction with Korean Daily News, this year is promised to be still the biggest ever.

The parade has been growing every year, and this year is no different. The traditional dresses and uniforms received as gift from the City of Seoul will be well on display by proud participants. From small businesses to 42st Street billboards of Korean Corporations like Samsung, Hyundai, and LG, the Korean American community have become an essential part of the great fabric we call New York City. This will be the day to celebrate our place in the Big Apple. “If you can make it here, we can make it anywhere, so here’s to you New York” and here’s to us for having made it here. KAAGNY urges everyone in our community to take the time out that day and join us. Let’s celebrate together the pride of living in the Big Apple!
