Celebrating the Lunar New Year, KAAGNY and The Koreatimes New York hosted "the 2009 Korean Parade" in middle of Manhattan. Korean Parade is one of the five biggest street parades in New York City. This year's 29th Korean Parade welcomed famous politicians such as Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a strong candidate for the first Asian Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection John Liu, and speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn reflecting the heightened status and influence of Korean American community.
