On February 8th, Mr. Ha and KAAGNY members visited Midtown South Precint to have a meeting with a new inspector, Dennis Dequattro. Mr. Ha warmly introduced his position at KAAGNY and about the history of KAAGNY. He also addressed that we, Korean Americans, need to special care and protection form Midtown South Precint, particularly on 32nd street known as the Korea Way.
Mr. Ha said, "You see 32nd street is very cultural and symbolic street for Koreans. And we always need support, help, and attention from you."
Mr. Ha also sought for opportunities that Korean Americans could get involved such as internship. Dennis Dequattro promised to find summer internships or other involvements for younger generations.
Other important issues (sanitation matters on 32nd street or KAAGNY's future event plannings) were discussed during the meeting. Although it was the first meeting between Mr. Ha and Dennis Dequattro, the meeting was very promising and two built their friendship and promised cooperation and collaboration in the near future.
