Information: To discuss whether or not to assign a Korean Church in New York City as a historic site commemorating the independence of Korea, the inspection committee from the Korean government visited New York on the 16th. The committee included Gwang Tae Lee from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterance Affairs, Dr. Sun Pyo Hong from the Korean Liberation Advocates Research Center of Independence Hall, and Researcher Do Hyung Kim. They visited KAAGNY and informed us about their plans, and discussed about having a historic site at a Korean church in New York. When Mr. Gwang Tae Lee heard how the church has been fundraising for reconstructing its old building that has been forbidden to use, he stated that "support from the Korean government will be available once it gets assigned as the historic site, and that a thorough inspection will be made." The committee will be staying in NYC until the 18th and inspect the churches. They will also visit the 5th Avenue Hotel, the the meeting location between the envoys of King Gojong and the US president, and NYC Townhall where the 3.1 Day Ceremony in 1920 was held.
