On May 4th , KAAGNY hosted the meeting of the leaders of various business organization of Korean American community. The Korean American Dry Cleaner Association, Beauty Salon & Supply Association, Construction and Development Association, Restaurant Association, and others came together to discuss the role KAAGNY could play in helping them meet the challenges they faced within their industries.
Some of the issues which came up were partial inspectors, excessive violation ticket issuance, regulations going against common sense, and connecting their groups with reliable professional experts- i.e. legal, bilingual, accounting, etc.
KAAGNY is working to hold a “local business expo”, “seminars”, and “fairs” in our effort to stimulate our local economy, albeit a very difficult proposition. KAAGNY Manhattan office is fielding inquires from various small business owners with their questions. We have been successful thus far in connecting these questions with our pro bono experts and non-profit organizations. We will like everyone in our community to know that our ears and phones are open for anyone who needs some assistance. We are pledged to do our best in trying to help those who need them. Even though we can not help all, our dedicated office staff will do their utmost to connect them to those who may be able to help. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
