Blood and thunder, it was the student volunteers! The record election of 31st KAAGNY displayed how earnestly the Korean American community yearned for the strong leadership role from KAAGNY. But in order utilize the database of the 2009 election voters, this data had to be transferred from paper to electronics.

Every Saturday, from May 9th, the student volunteers armed with their computer lap tops gathered in Manhattan KAAGNY building to do the tedious work of date transfer. These 31 student volunteers built the road that will connect us with each other for long time to come in our community. In times of trouble and times of joy, we now have the ability to get in touch with ourselves. Did these volunteer students know the importance of the task they were performing?

What is certain is the spirit of volunteerism they have within themselves. This will serve them well regardless of the station they choose in their lives, for they are the true practitioner of Benjamin Franklin’s wisdom-“when you help others, you are being best to yourself.” KAAGNY is grateful for the valuable service these volunteers provided for our common future. But we are furthermore proud that our youth have the noble calling and the right stuff that will ensure the prosperity for long time to come in our future.
